The course covers a managing agents’ duties under the: • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 when instructing or employing contractors; • Building Regulations (as amended by the Building Safety Act 2022) when undertaking work to which the Building Regulations apply; • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 when the work ‘requires construction skills and uses construction materials’.

Course Contents

This course will assist you to:

  • understand your legal duties and will explain what actions you need to take to comply with those duties.
  • understand the new requirements of the Building Regulations in relation to duties and competence that will be introduced in October as a result of the secondary legislation that will be introduced as a result of the Building Safety Bill.
  • The Building Regulations apply to work as small as replacing a fire door, windows or boiler and will therefore affect most managing agents. There will be new duty holders and new significant penalties for failure. If you are not aware yet of the changes, you need to attend this course.

  • instruct or employ contractors; or commission
  •  procure or manage works of any size that requires
  • construction skills and uses construction materials.
