Grant Funding Agreements

At present, a Grant Funding Agreement (GFA) must be signed by an Applicant (typically the RMC / RTM / Freeholder / managing agent) in order to access the Building Safety Fund (BSF).

Previously, ARMA and IRPM voiced concerns about clauses in the current version of the GFA which were deemed to have the potential to place Applicants at significant financial risk.

Following extensive joint ARMA and IRPM talks with Government, we are pleased to say there has been substantial progress made, resulting in agreement on a revised GFA. Our thanks go to our colleagues at DLUHC for their extensive help and engagement.

This revised GFA contract is currently being drafted and is expected to be available shortly.

On the progress made, Lord Greenhalgh, Minister of State (Minister for Building Safety and Fire), Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, said: “My officials have been working closely with ARMA and IRPM regarding outstanding issues with the Grant Funding Agreement. Recent engagement has been positive and I look forward to the final details being agreed imminently, so that we can drive forward the remediation of unsafe cladding.”
