E02: Empty Dwellings Management Orders (EDMOs)

Synopsis

EDMOs were created by the Housing Act 2004 - with the legislation coming into effect in 2006.
    
Local authorities do not have to use the powers, only if they see a benefit in bringing an empty property back into use.

EDMOs cannot be taken out against public sector landlords.
