Synopsis

A lease extension is in effect a new lease and can be agreed either voluntarily by the landlord and leaseholder or unilaterally on application by the leaseholder under statute and on statutory terms.

Decisions about lease extensions are ones for the landlord/ freeholder not managing agents.
